Foliage will remain lush for a slightly longer time after blooming if kept moist but it will die back by midsummer Deadhead for smaller second bloom. With deep tap-roots Lupines are at best difficult to transplant. No long-lived; replace plants regularly, every third year or so. Companion plants include Papaver and Salvia.
